Charges Against Neng Yang

Neng Yang began his career with Clovis Unified School District in 1993 as an instructional aide, became a full teacher in 1997 at Fancher Creek Elementary, and later transferred to Freedom Elementary in 2007.

In 2012, Neng Yang was arrested while teaching at Freedom Elementary School in Clovis. He later pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, resulting in a 38-year prison sentence in 2014. However, new claims are now surfacing about his conduct during his time at Fancher Creek Elementary between 1998 and 2005.

A June 2025 lawsuit alleges that he repeatedly abused students between the late 1990s and early 2010s at Fancher Creek. The lawsuit represents five women who attended Fancher Creek during that time and allege that they were victims of sexual abuse by Yang. The lawsuit focuses on the school official's failure to act, report and protect the children involved who reported it. The lawsuit details disturbing allegations, including coercion and forced engagement in oral sex, penetration, fondling, and forcing a victim to engage in child pornography.

The Strength to Overcome Sexual Abuse

Survivors of sexual abuse possess remarkable resilience in the face of challenges that can include emotional struggles like anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as physical harm from non-consensual acts. In the most difficult cases, survivors may grapple with thoughts of self-harm, yet their courage in confronting these experiences is a testament to their strength.

Taking the step to come forward and seek justice is empowering. In criminal proceedings, the focus is on holding the perpetrator accountable and ensuring the safety of others. Survivors have the right to seek justice through skilled legal representation, working alongside prosecutors dedicated to pursuing accountability.

Feelings of guilt, shame, or difficulty trusting others are common after such experiences, but they do not define a survivor’s journey. Each survivor deserves the opportunity to heal, rebuild trust, and form meaningful connections. Justice and closure are not only possible but essential steps toward reclaiming power and building a future filled with hope and strength.
